MIT economist David Autor writes in Science that “college grads made almost twice as much per hour in 2013 as workers without a four-year degree. And the lifetime value of a diploma is now around a half-million dollars, even after you factor in tuition” (Kamenetz par. 1). To continue one’s education after high school is not always the easiest decision, but statistics show that there are tremendous benefits for doing so in some capacity. Having some kind of continued learning seems to be worth the time and energy and finances since it can lead to a life of more opportunities than that of one without a continued education. Now and days it is expecting to head to college after high school.
