“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that” are words from Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. always looked at the good of things. He stood up for what he believed in. He is very important and has greatly impacted lots of people.
Martin Luther King Jr. was and still is very important. For example, he was a civil rights leader. A leader is a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. People started to understand what he was saying and followed his actions. This most certainly makes him a leader. Secondly, January 15th is a day of celebration. January 15th, 1929 is King’s birthday. Every year on that day people celebrate him by remembering his doings and how important he is. Schools are even on his birthday. Thirdly, he is in history books.This allows younger children from generation to generation to learn how important he is. Lastly, a black man standing up for what he believes in was rare back then. It is important that people know some of the brave black men back in the day.
Martin Luther King Jr. has also impacted many people. For starters, his “I have a Dream” speech during the March on Washington made people view things a lot differently. He got a lot of people to feel the the same way. Next, the bus boycott was under King’s influence. People spoke up about what they believed in because of Martin. Also, he was responsible for the passing of the Civil Rights Act. Eventually, his impact led to the end of racism. It also led to freedom in a way. His accomplishments made a big impact.
In conclusion, Martin Luther King Jr. stood up for what he believes in. He was and still is very important. He made a big impact to a lot people. All kinds of ages think he is very influential! Kids do projects on Martin Luther King Jr. which is helping his legacy stay alive.
